Bush Seeks
to "reinvent," read abolish Medicare and Medicaid. Broke states would have more "power" to manage programs when they can't even manage their own state budgets. And preposterous proposals to give people "more choice" in these programs and Social Security, programs that were designed because PRIVATE INDUSTRY COULDN'T DO THE JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE are actually being discussed by an administration that was never elected to begin with, and thus any of their proposals are illegitimate.
These are handouts to campaign contributors and absolutely worthless as policies. Private insurance companies won't even insure the elderly because they cost too much. That's why they operate, and because of the profit motive private health insurance should be abolished in America.
