on why there's a standoff on the Miguel Estrada nomination. Of course there's little in the way of writings of Estrada; that's why he was nominated. He isn't like Robert Bork, with tons of baggage in judicial decisions. But don't think for a minute Estrada won't be as extreme as Scalia or Thomas.

The fact the man is a member of the far right Federalist Society is reason alone to reject him. The Federalist Society, after all, was designed to roll back ALL of the gains made in the twentieth century in terms of civil rights and virtually all of the rights of anybody not in the economic elite. They are lockstep "conservatives," and no way would Estrada veer from that. His association with Ann Coulter is fact, not supposition, and she has stated quite bluntly what he would do if he is put on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
