We had this shit with the 401(k)s, which, after they were broadened to include lower-paying employees, were merely designed as cost shifts from the employer to the employee. I suspect the move to abolish or privatize Social Security is also a way for businesses to get out of paying their share (50 percent of the benefits).

Yep, these schemes have been around for decades, and we know these things NEVER worked before; hence, the reason for Social Security in the first place.

Of course, the only people who will really be able to take advantage of any of these new proposals are the rich, who will be able to shelter even more of their money than they do now. And that's the whole idea in a nutshell, shelter more of the rich's money and force the middle class and poor to shoulder more of the tax burden. Sick.
