How's This for a Laugh?

Some crybabies on the right and some idiot Democratic senators like Chuck Schumer want reform in the judicial selection process because of the bottleneck of some nominees.

Some are talking about bipartisan commissions in the states to nominate possible candidates, but the whole thing is so bogus, it's laughable. Bush gets the vast majority of his nominees in without a hitch. Morally he shouldn't get a single one through since he wasn't legitimately elected. There really isn't a problem here, and Schumer knows better than to propose such nonsense which takes away the power from the president to nominate who he wants.

But the crybabies want to subvert the filibuster process altogether in nominating judges. Well you idiots, if you'd quit nominating unqualified, Federalist Society hacks, you wouldn't have problems with filibusters. Use the damned ABA instead of the Federalist Society, for crying out loud (though Martin Garbus in his book does mention the right's desire to take over that august organization).

Doing away with the filibuster, a tool of checks-and-balances in government, even in limited cases like judicial appointments, basically turns Congress into a unicameral legislature. That's the last thing we want in this country.
