No Surprises
with this New York Times report on the numbers of black children in poverty is on the rise. It has risen greatly since 2000 (I wonder who was president in 2000 and then who got selected in 2001). The release of the report had been timed to influence the debate over Bush's unnecessary tax cut bill. Some Heritage hack was quoted as disputing this, but it seems there are other studies out there that support the Children's Defense Fund findings.
The shredding of the safety net makes far more people fall through it. Telling people as this idiot talk show host Rusty Humphries did today to quit relying on handouts from the government and making it on their own is so much horseshit it's pitiful.
