was partly struck down by a three-judge federal panel yesterday.

Despite all of the blather about "reform," the bill would have crippled Democrats because of the limits on soft money contributions. It wouldn't have limited hard money contributions which benefit the Republicans.

The fact Bush signed it should give one pause. It made it look like our dictator was in favor of reform but actually gave his party huge advantages.

You know, it was the classic case of talking out of both sides of one's mouth.

Instead there should be public financing of political campaigns and free television air time instead of candidates being bought by special interests.
