New York Times reporter Katharine Q. Seelye writes about our ramblin' gamblin' man Bennett.

Although Bennett has never kept secret his addiction, er, hobby, William Kristol of the PNAC (okay, Weekly Standard) is a world-class hypocrite:

"It would be different if he had written anti-gambling screeds. I'm sure he doesn't regard gambling as a virtue but as a minor [HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN GAMBLING EXPENSES is MINOR, Bill?] and pardonable vice and a legal one and one that has not damaged him or anyone else."

Too bad the jerk wasn't as charitable towards the Clintons when they were smeared and libeled beyond belief. But when it's a Republican involved, and when it is true, it's perfectly okay.
