Howard Fineman
is back to seemingly thinking Dean might be unstoppable.
Unless, of course, Dean shoots himself in the ass:
"In the end Dean's biggest obstacle may be--Howard Dean. Sooner or later, he is going to come under enormous pressure, and his response will decide his fate. He can be imperious, he has a temper, and he tends to be a know-it-all. He is no longer an insurgent but a frontrunner--and that is still the most dangerous place to be before voting begins."
Which means he has nowhere to go but down, and down he will go. We have seen some of his embarrassing moments such at the MTP interview, his brazen lie about raising the Social Security age, his apologies to other candidates, his tendency to shoot his face off which makes him appear arrogant and ignorant at the same time, his flip-flops and so on. These embarrassing and damaging moments will get worse and more frequent as the spotlight increases.
No more will he get a free ride when the other candidates get going. If he can damage Kerry and Kerry in turn can damage Dean, then it's great for John Edwards (provided he doesn't listen to the media bullshit writing him off or basically telling him to hang it up) who should end up taking it all.
