"If Not Being Able
to predict where our economy should be 18 months from now is a reason for recall, I should be recalled, but so should 46 other governors...and so should the president of the United States."--Gray Davis, speaking to a San Francisco audience.
The nature of the reporting in this article and the questions that were asked of Davis by and large are all the proof we need the recall is being done because it can be done, not for anything Davis did.
This is good:
"I did nothing after the (2002) election but get ready for my inauguration, and they were already planning a recall. They were a bunch of Republican consultants with nothing to do, and they ginned this up."
