Life Goes On.
I was checking my almost 2,000 email messages, almost all of which I have deleted, when I came across one from a former colleague of mine from the law library. She wrote me to say that a former reference librarian there, who worked at another library in Oregon, passed away from cancer late last month.
I really liked that woman. She was the best person I ever worked with. We got along so well at the law library, and she was always so concerned about everybody, always helpful, and absolutely fantastic as a reference librarian who had a super computer background.
She had everything going for her. Everything. She was the perfect colleague, and I told her so when she left. What a goddamned shame she was cut down and at a relatively young age of about 53.
The good die young, it's true.
