Nevada's Jim Gibbons
has decided to bow out of running against Harry Reid for the United States Senate. Gibbons claims his work on House committees on terraism were more important than winning another seat for the Republicans.
Of course, he has a safe seat here in northern Nevada, and there's no point in giving it up for a crapshoot. There's little doubt at all that the fallout from the Gibbon's initiative, which helped create the legislative mess this past summer, didn't help his prospects, either.
