Part 4

in the series of articles about John Edwards from the Charlotte Observer. This is about his first campaign for the U.S. Senate, against the despicable Lauch Faircloth, one of the people responsible for trying to undermine Bill Clinton's presidency.

Edwards was extremely shrewd, looking at his old cases to see if anything could be used against him, seldoming mentioning Faircloth by name, using the Jesse Helms method of having third parties (in this case the Democratic Party) do the dirty work of nailing Faircloth.

And every time Edwards appeared on television, his poll numbers went up. Even if he made a mistake here and there, he still prevail in NC.

People ignore this talent at their own peril.
