Today's As the World Turns
was a keeper, and I am saving the tape of it. The serial killer storyline has basically ended, and it ended with a bang. Dr. Rick Decker had his wife Susan and her daughter Allison held hostage, but Chris Hughes (medical intern and son of the hospital chief of staff) got into a struggle with Decker (who had a gun and was threatening to kill Susan, Allison, and himself), and the gun went off.
However, Chris, who was on top of Decker, got up and the bullet went through the floor. Decker, however, was out cold because of a syringe in his back, a great touch of irony considering he killed most of his victims through injecting them with an overdose of potassium chloride. Decker, however, had a shot of a sedative thanks to Chris.
Anyway, that soap should be nominated for a daytime Emmy next year just for that storyline alone.
