While There
was all of this talk about S. raising oodles and oodles of cash from those special interests he wasn't going to grovel for, Gray Davis is more than a million dollars ahead of him in fundraising. Davis has raised $4.2 million through August 23. Davis had 500k from his last election campaign, but 2 mil of S.'s campaign chest has come from his own bank account. Ueberroth has closed the gap for the Republican end of it by having $2.37 million through Aug. 23, which includes a million of his own money.
Bustamante has raised $872,869, but that's not counting the $300,000 he's raised from two unions in the past few days.
