Speaking of Newt,
his mother died the other day at the age of 77. Remember, she was the one who made the derogatory remark about Hillary Clinton to Connie Chung a million years ago. Then Clinton invited her to the White House, which she enjoyed.
It does seem like a million years ago. Hell, when George W. Bush was installed as dictator, it seemed like a million years ago.
"Susan Gingrich, another daughter, said Tuesday night that the family was unhappy with Chung's interview that made her mother so well-known.
"'It's one of the things that people remember. It was just one that the press liked because it was negative of Newt,' Susan Gingrich told the Patriot-News. 'I never heard Newt say anything like that. He's a gentleman. My mother really did think she heard it.'
"Susan Gingrich said her mother derived the most pleasure from her family. 'One of her proudest moments was seeing Newt sworn in,' she said."
And presumably one of her lowest moments was seeing and hearing Newt sworn at.
And that's it for me tonight.
