Forty-Three Years

after her death, Marilyn Monroe still is good for book and newspaper sales.

Supposedly there are/were tapes in existence of Monroe sharing her most inner thoughts with her psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, who died in 1979. These alleged conversations have been mentioned in some recent Monroe books I plan to avoid getting.

The tapes and transcripts are supposed to prove beyond any doubt Monroe never wanted to kill herself, but they sure as hell don't prove she was murdered, either.

More likely she died as Donald Spoto in his book on Monroe indicated, and that's she died of an accidental overdose of drugs, both ingested orally and through an enema her housekeeper likely gave her in order to lose inches for an upcoming re-marriage to Joe DiMaggio.

It's the only explanation that makes any sense at all.

Not that it will stop vultures from picking every single bone of Monroe's life, real and imagined.
