Stan Berenstain, 82, who co-wrote and co-illustrated a slew of children's books with his wife, Jan, has died from complications of cancer.

They were extremely busy over the decades. The pair published some 250 books, which were spun off into a cottage industry of movies, television shows, memorabilia, etc.

Stan's death won't end the family empire. His widow and two sons will continue.

The current president of the college I went to in the 1970s before dropping out, Elizabeth Zinser, is retiring from SOU next summer.

The article mentions she has served as a president or chancellor at three universities over the past 17 years. What the article doesn't say is Zinser made the Guinness Book of World Records as the shortest-serving college president in history when she resigned from Gallaudet University during the furor in 1988 by deaf students over having a non-hearing impaired college president. She lasted a mere two days on the job.
