For Some
unexplicable reason, many Democrats think highly of Senator John McCain, who is NO progressive on any issue at all but is as right-wing as they come.
It's because he is a media darling who when he ran for president in 2000 allowed the media almost unlimited access. The national press corps undoubtedly likes having their collective egos stroked once in a while, and McCain was more than happy to oblige.
If he runs for president, he would have to run even more to the right to win the nomination. If he were to win the White House, as old as he would be, he'd have to govern as much to the right as our dictator.
But the fact he isn't a neocon puppet means he's doomed anyway and won't win any kind of nomination.
