got together for a convention designed to hash out the latest nutball conspiracy theories about the assassination of JFK. Naturally, these "researchers" and "historians" concluded they were no closer to cracking the case than they ever were.

Heaven forbid any of them concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald alone killed Kennedy, wounded Governor Connally, and killed Officer Tippit. There is no "alleged" about it. Oswald did it, and we've known the truth from the time he was arrested.

There's probably nothing lower than exploiting a national tragedy for money and notoriety.
