As the World Turns.

A Missouri official challenges the prevailing notion homeschooling creates all of these college-bound students who win spelling contests by stating that because there are few or no regulations of it, children are often neglected and screwed over educationally.

Naturally this has created some controversy.

Well, if these homeschool advocates are doing their job, they shouldn't worry about regulations.

It always kills me that some think because they have brought kids into the world, that makes them qualified to teach. After all, teaching is easy.

An ex-staffer of Fieger claims he was pressured to make donations to JRE's campaign, in an obvious attempt by Republicans to "Muskie" John Edwards before he even gets a chance to run in 2008.

It's pretty obvious here:

On Friday, Bird, 49, of Orion Township said a partner in the Fieger firm, Ven Johnson, approached him a week after he joined the firm in June 2003 and told him to contribute $2,000 apiece for himself and his wife to Edwards' budding campaign.

Bird said he told Johnson he could not afford it.

"He said they would reimburse me," Bird said, adding that he suspected the contributions were improper but felt compelled to make them to keep his job. He also said Johnson wanted him to contribute for his children.

Johnson said Bird's claims are "blatantly false."

Both Johnson and Fieger said Bird tried to extort money from the firm by threatening to go to the FBI unless he received money he said he was owed for pending cases left behind when he was fired in July. They said Bird called Johnson last week in an effort to get him to make incriminating statements.

"The FBI's informant is a mentally ill discharged lawyer who has repeatedly threatened us over the past month with going to the FBI," Fieger said Friday. He said the FBI and IRS -- which raided Fieger's Southfield offices Wednesday night -- should already know of Bird's alleged problems because agents seized Bird's personnel file.

The allegations are clearly bullshit.
