More proof has surfaced showing Brownie did a heck of a job.
Grants are on the way to help Katrina's victims while shitloads of money are being squandered in Iraq.
And ain't this cute?
U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson said today that lucrative FEMA contracts awarded to a firm owned by a woman with family ties to Gov. Haley Barbour raises legitimate questions, but he stopped short of accusing the Republican governor of wrongdoing.
"The fact that you've got a high-profile governor that used to be a high-profile lobbyist, whose niece by marriage with the same name happens to be one of the largest Katrina related-contractors, makes for significant discussion, especially when there is concern about who's getting contracts in the first place," said Thompson, a Democrat from Mississippi.
Barbour, who worked in the Reagan White House and once chaired the Republican National Committee, has close ties to the Bush Administration but his office denied favoritism played a role in the contracts.
