I

will probably start going to bed much earlier than I have in the past. That's because I was totally wiped out last night and hit the sack at around 10 o'clock. I turned on the radio to "Iraq Around the Clock," also known as "The Bernie Ward Show." I listened for about ten minutes, and then I got fed up and read some of Truth and Duty before going to bed.

Bernie Ward has a habit of taking just one thing, in this case the Iraq War, and flogging it to death. Not just for the first hour but the whole three hours, night after night after night. If it's not Iraq, it's Plamegate. He's a lot like the liberal bloggers.

It's not that those stories aren't important, but there are so many other things going on in the world as well. Ward seems to be a person of rather limited interests and curiosity, and that's why he doesn't hit on a lot of different topics. Actually, though, he needs to consider his listeners, what listeners there are who aren't bored to death by the same old stuff night after night.

And speaking of blogs, I know I defy "conventional wisdom" in the blogosphere which says that a "good" blog should focus on a single topic in order to get readers. In other words, like a magazine owner, bloggers should find a niche and then bore their readers to death writing about the same old shit. Well, screw that. I will write about whatever I wish to write about, and I will write as long or short a post as I so desire. And some of the people who have linked me in the past have "delinked" me, and they know who they are, and that's their prerogative. But I am under no illusions that I am a pundit or a Hemingway or anything else.

So there.
