a lot more about anorexia now than 20 or 30 years ago. Treatment has also improved.
It's regarded as a mental illness with far too many fatalities (some 10 percent of anorexics die). Certain psychological factors have to be in place for the child or adult to plunge into this self-destructive illness.
I have written before I was close to being anorexic, but I didn't like the fact I was passing out quite often for lack of food.
