Desperate Republicans and equally desperate media types are trashing John Edwards for building a compound in North Carolina.

JRE has never hid the fact he is rich, but unlike our dictator and most of the filthy mob in the Republican Party, he didn't inherit it and didn't get it through thievery. Furthermore, he's using his wealth to help people.

The Republicans are such liars, but we've seen this stuff done before to the Kennedys and the Roosevelts. The Republicans believe the rich should be selfish bastards looking down on their "inferiors" who should serve their every whim rather than being people who feel that helping others helps our society as a whole.

Besides, Edwards needs the extra space for security and staff when he becomes president of the United States.
