Just days after retiring from the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, powerful theocrat and CNP member D. James Kennedy, 76, died early this morning in his sleep.

He had been ill for months and never fully recovered:

Kennedy, who also founded a broadcast ministry, a seminary and an annual series of conservative conferences, suffered multiple complications ever since Dec. 28, when he suffered arrhythmia and cardiac arrest. He never fully recovered, despite a rigorous rehabilitation regimen in Florida and Michigan.

He leaves a giant void to fill for those aspiring to shove their radical religious and political beliefs down the throats of the rest of us.
