O.J. desperately tries to channel Johnnie Cochran as he finds himself in deep, deep shit in his preliminary hearing in Vegas:
It started as a business deal between O.J. Simpson and auctioneer Thomas Riccio to reclaim sports collectibles the former football star said were stolen.(Justin Sullivan, AP)
But "it went south," Riccio testified today.
Simpson wanted to retrieve signed memorabilia and photos of his deceased parents, Riccio said in testimony on the second day of the preliminary hearing that will determine whether the former college and NFL star will have to face trial on felony charges including armed robbery and kidnapping.
Riccio said Simpson had agreed to sign 200 copies of "If I Did It," his book on the 1994 killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was acquitted of both murders in 1995.
But the plan to recover the hundreds of sports items went awry, Riccio said.
