"backed up" Obama only as a strategy against Hillary. Hillary is far, far tougher to dislodge than Obama, and, if Edwards can weaken her enough and put her away, Obama will be easy to beat.
Obama, of course, is a lousy debater, and if Edwards can get one-on-one with him, the Audacity of Hype will be seen as the Emperor With No Clothes.
