The 73-year-old retired engineering technician admitted to the crimes some 36 hours after he was arrested.

Josef Fritzl confessed 36 hours after he was arrested and as police searched the family house in Amstetten, east Austria, where he held his daughter Elisabeth and her children prisoner in three cramped underground rooms.
"He has now said that he locked up his daughter for 24 years and that he alone fathered her seven children and that he locked them up in the cellar," said Franz Polzer, head of the criminal investigations unit in the province of Lower Austria.

Elisabeth Fritzl was first raped by this monster when she was eleven years old. She had tried to escape the house twice, but after the second time, in August of 1984, her filthy excuse of a father decided he'd had enough and locked her away. He continued raping her almost every day for the next couple of decades.

Authorities want to know how it is this creep was able to bring clothing and food to the basement of the apartment house without people suspecting anything.
