Miscellaneous.

Actually the Lorena Bobbitt solution would be more effective:

Chastity belts, which went out of fashion with knights in shining armor and damsels in distress, are making a comeback in the massage parlors of East Java.

In a bid to prevent any hanky-panky between masseuses and their clients, several massage parlors in the hill resort town of Batu are insisting that the women wear padlocks across the zippers of their work pants.

It's all the women's responsibility to prevent "natural" male urges.

Sick, sick, sick.

This is truly unbelievable:

Acting on "a confidential tip," Amstetten police apprehended Josef F. and Elisabeth F. on Saturday near the hospital for questioning, according to a police statement. Once police assured the daughter that she would never have contact with her father again, "she was able to tell the whole story," Schmitzberger said.

Josef F. lived upstairs with his wife, Rosemarie F., who police said had no idea about her husband's other family living in the cellar.

Josef F. and Rosemarie F. had adopted three of the children that he had with his daughter, according to police. He told his wife that his missing daughter had dropped the unwanted children off at the house because she could not take care of them, police said.

And still more from this outrageous case:

All three were fed and clothed by Mr Fritzl but they were not allowed to go to school. According to her testimony, Ms Fritzl had to teach all three – the others were Felix, 5, and Stefan, 18 – to speak, read and write. Her father passed clothing and food through a hatch.

Between 1993 and 2000 Mr Fritzl allegedly maintained an elaborate pretence. On three occasions he claimed that the children of his missing daughter had been mysteriously dumped on him and that she had then disappeared. The three accounted for in this way were formally adopted and allowed to attend school. “Their behaviour was good and their marks were too,” a school spokesman said.

Last night police said that they had entered part of the cellar where the others were allegedly imprisoned. Because Mr Fritzl had been an electrical engineer and had access to explosives, they were proceeding very cautiously for fear of booby traps. The house is a three-storey building in a busy street.

And if the girl hadn't been sick, this asshole would have gotten away with it:

Mr Fritzl and Elisabeth were spotted in the grounds of the hospital where Kerstin is being treated. That rare concession by Mr Fritzl to his daughter appears to have been his undoing. Police said yesterday that she was distraught and would only talk after she received assurances that all of her children were out of the reach of her father.
