The loss in Mississippi of all places was a big blow to Republicans' chances in the fall, no doubt of it--in congressional races. But they DO have the White House in the bag, that much I am certain if Democrats nominate Obama. They have less chance if Clinton is the nominee although it is still an uphill battle for her to beat McCain. If it is anybody else as a result of a brokered convention, the odds would shift in the Democrats' favor.
The big thing that could stem Republicans' congressional losses would be an Obama nomination. He is so toxic, he could hurt races downticket.
