John McCain Pictures.

The crowd liked what he said overall, but they didn't like his remarks about immigration. There were some audible boos in the audience.

After talking for about 20 minutes, McCain took some questions. He was at the meeting for about an hour before heading for a fundraiser in town. The national media, including CNN, was on hand to cover his remarks.

McCain kept talking about Obama and drawing contrasts between himself and Obama. It's going to be the pits if it turns out Obama is not the Democratic nominee.

McCain gave a speech before opening it up to questions. He talked about how he was going to curb spending, and this drew cheers from the audience. Never mind George W. Bush is the one who has spent this country into debt. I don't think McCain mentioned him once.

McCain once again smiles when hearing the roar of the crowd after Graham's introduction.

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina introduced the senator.

I just returned from a John McCain town hall meeting at the Boys and Girls Club in Sparks (or Reno). I'd say around a thousand people, maybe more, were there on a workday to see and hear him. I didn't get his autograph or shake his hand; I barely missed both. In other words, despite being the presumptive GOP nominee for president, he is still surprisingly accessible. In this picture, he listens to the crowd welcoming him.

Some protesters were downtown where McCain was scheduled for a fundraiser.
