More About Malik.

The ADL has a profile of one of Obama's most ardent supporters:

Malik Zulu Shabazz, the anti-Semitic and racist leader of the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), has sought to recast himself as a serious civil rights leader in recent years by cloaking his bigotry and intolerance in religious and civil rights principles and inserting himself in high profile, racially charged issues around the country.

Shabazz’s efforts have been supported, at times, by prominent members of the African-American community, which has provided him with a measure of status as a legitimate leader. This status is also reinforced by media accounts, which increasingly ignore his divisive record.

Shabazz’s attempts to gain acceptance and respectability are tainted, however, by his long record of racism and anti-Semitism, which he continues to embrace. That record includes promoting conspiracy theories about Jewish foreknowledge of the September 11 terrorist attacks and canards that Jews control the media and were “significantly and substantially” involved in the transatlantic slave trade.

Oh, my God.

For those who want more info, here is the New Black Panther Party webpage. It is NOT to be confused with the original Black Panthers at all, though I would almost bet that is the intent of the racist/nationalist/homophobic "new party."

The ADL has some info about Khalid Abdul Muhammad, the late head of the "new" party. It ain't very flattering:

Muhammad first drew harsh criticism for a speech he gave at New Jersey's Kean College in November 1993. He referred to Jews as "bloodsuckers," called for the genocide of white people, and demeaned both Pope John Paul II and homosexuals. ADL responded by running a full-page ad in The New York Times reprinting some of his statements. In February 1994, Congress issued a denunciation of Muhammad, condemning his speech as "outrageous hatemongering of the most vicious and vile kind." Farrakhan responded to Muhammad's speech by removing him from the NOI's hierarchy, although he took issue only with the form, not "the truth" of Muhammad's remarks.

After being stripped of his position as NOI spokesman, Muhammad led the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense (NBPP), which was in the public spotlight in Jasper, Texas. He traveled with about 50 followers to "protect" the streets of Jasper in the wake of the heinous racial murder of James Byrd Jr. He also organized and led the 1998 Million Youth March in New York. Many observers blame Muhammad for inciting the melee between demonstrators and New York City police officers, which concluded the march, by exhorting the crowd to beat the police with rails and to shoot them with their own guns in "self-defense."

It just gets better. For the GOP's chances to retain the White House, that is.
