Police could have found Josef Fritzl's diabolical cellar five years ago during an arson probe, but they missed it.

This case is by no means unique, although it is extreme, in the history of crime. In a story much closer to home, damned close to Reno, Colleen Stan was kept prisoner by a twisted son of a bitch named Cameron Hooker. She had to live in a box underneath the bed of Hooker and his wife for seven damned years before she finally escaped with Hooker's wife, Janice.
