At least Majestic Prince came in second in 1969, beaten by Arts and Letters. Majestic Prince shouldn't have run because of soundness issues. He never raced again.
And no, Kent Desormeaux would never shame himself, his family, or the racing industry by "throwing" a race. If anybody threw the race, it was the horse.
