The crowd was estimated to be around 1,200 today, and yes, McCain played up the maverick image with his stands on immigration, campaign finance, global warming, and stem-cell research, to name but a few issues.
There is little doubt in my mind he is trying to get support from Democrats disaffected and disgusted with Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.
There was a small group of protesters outside of Reed High School.
Some Republicans are a bit worried John McCain is going negative on Barack Obama.
I guess they are worried McCain may run out of ammunition before the fall campaign.
