In one of the most graphic instances of how great our health care system is, an ignored psychiatric patient died on the floor of a New York hospital.
Hospital officials said that on June 20, the day after Ms. Green died, the hospital took action against staff members responsible for her. The director of psychiatry, the doctor on duty and the director of security at Kings County were fired, said Ana Marengo, a spokeswoman for the Health and Hospitals Corporation. She said two nurses and a security guard had been suspended pending union-mandated hearings.

The Delaware House of Representatives passed a resolution protecting those with severe brain injury, mentally disabled, or have impaired consciousness.
This is in response to the case of Lauren Richardson, a 24-year-old in the middle of a case where her mother wants to kill her through dehydration and starvation, while her father wants to keep her alive.
