Campaign Crapola

I will have to get hold of the upcoming Atlantic article about those internal memos of the Clinton campaign. I know a bunch of them will be posted online, and I think my subscription to the hard copy is still valid. But why are they being leaked now, right before the Democratic Convention?

I think I have answered my own question.

And how about this?

Longtime Obama observers like me have noticed he has a habit of getting people out of the way he perceives as a threat to his ambitions, even to the point where he ends up having nominal opposition.

To reiterate about Jack Ryan, who I wrote about a few years ago and is mentioned at the link:

There’s a history of people who oppose Barack Obama having their dirty linen aired in public.

In the 2004 primary for his U.S. Senate seat, Blair Hull was Obama’s only serious opponent. Hull’s divorce papers were made public just a few weeks before the primary, papers that included incendiary charges of intimidation by his former wife. Hull’s poll numbers dropped, and he lost the primary. It has been reported that he donated to Hillary’s presidential campaign.

In an amazing coincidence, Obama’s first opponent in the general election for Senate in 2004, Jack Ryan, ALSO had his divorce papers made public, papers that included his former wife’s accusation that he had tried to get her to have sex with strangers at clubs he took her to in New York and Paris. Ryan had to drop out of the race, and the Republicans chose the hapless Alan Keyes to run against Obama. Obama won in a cake walk.

I have old posts and links (probably many no longer work) of the Jack and Jeri Ryan soap opera.
