Campaign Issues
Although deep down the GOP really doesn't want to criminalize abortion and thus get rid of one of their most potent "hot button" issues, and the Democratic Party as a whole refuses to push for an overturn of Roe v. Wade, Catholic voters still find themselves torn on the matter, not realizing they are being played.
