At about 10:10 a.m., Barack Obama took the stage at the University of Nevada, Reno's Peccole Park. There were thousands and thousands of people there.
Obama makes a point about his health care program versus John McCain's.

I think I like this one best.

I woke up at a godawful hour in order to get a cab at 5:30 a.m. to go to UNR's Peccole Park and get a halfway decent spot to watch Barack Obama give his speech today. There were 200 ahead of me, and thousands upon thousands eventually behind me. I was only three-deep just off to the side of the podium, when I got these great pictures of the candidate. Obama's main focus today was on the economy. During about a third of the way through his speech, the mic got unplugged, which threw him off a bit. The mic came back on a few minutes later, and he finished his speech to an overwhelmingly enthusiastic audience. I managed to shake his hand, and I did get him to sign both my copies of the paperback books "he" wrote. Obama stuck around for quite awhile afterwards.
I did get some video, too, of virtually all of his speech except for the first couple of minutes because I forgot to hit the "record" button on the camcorder. I will upload the video on YouTube. I haven't see the local paper's download, but if it's there, I'll upload that today and my video later or tomorrow.
Update: The Reno Gazette-Journal has a photo gallery of the event, mostly of crowd pictures. I am in one of them, but it's hard to see me because I am almost entirely obstructed by other people.
