Two famous racehorses have died:
Breeders' Cup champion Cozzene, 28, was euthanized yesterday. For years he had melanoma, which is common among gray horses.
He won the 1985 Breeders' Cup Mile:

Princess Rooney, also 28, was euthanized yesterday because of complications from EPM, which attacks a horse's nervous system.
She won the inaugural Breeders' Cup Distaff in 1984:
