A core Democratic Party principle is public financing of political campaigns, and our so-called standardbearer is opposed to such principles, feeling as he does he should be able to raise obscene amounts of money that would make the GOP blush and not have to tell anybody where it comes from.

You KNOW small donors aren't entirely responsible for his obscene amounts of money, close to a half-BILLION dollars total. But the article doesn't speculate about that possibility, instead focusing on a loophole in the current law regarding small donations:
