Mitt Romney, who may be a presidential candidate in 2012, isn't as big an idiot as Richard Shelby and DOESN'T say at all the auto industry in this country should die; what he thinks should happen is the industry go through "managed bankruptcy."
That sounds better at first, but then realize the goal is to kill the UAW. Not good.
The WSWS is concerned about that very thing.

I'm stuck on this one. On the one hand I support the argument that business is better off if we let market forces dictate, but on the other hand is there a less painful way in regards the US economy? In the long run can there be any advantage to letting the government interfere? Our competitors all have government assistance in this and other manufacturing areas. Does this qualify as one area that so effects the welfare of the nation that it is in our best interest to allow government involvement? I'm leaning towards yes...
