While it was proposed that some 30,000 wild horses and burros in Nevada and other states be euthanized, it appears there may be a rescue plan in place. Madeleine Pickens, wife of billionaire T. Boone Pickens, and who owned racing great Cigar, wants to adopt the horses and look for a possible place to relocate them. Other rescue groups have also expressed interest.
After all, they are a symbol of the West, and there has to be a place for them all.
