One of the saddest aspects of the worsening economy is the abandonment of pets, including horses.
I don't get why people would turn them loose thinking the horses could possibly survive in the wild. There are plenty of animal rescue organizations willing to take them in.

And more people are having their pets killed or are giving them up because they think they can't take care of them.
You know what? There is NO excuse for this crap. There are all kinds of programs to help low-income people with their pets. There is just no excuse at all for giving up pets. There is a sick mentality that says pets are disposable.
