One of the founders of modern American fascism--excuse me, "conservatism"--Paul Weyrich, has died at the relatively young age of 66.

He helped create the Heritage Foundation and coined the phrase "moral majority."

Weyrich died at around 1 a.m. this morning, according to the Heritage Foundation site.

He had been in poor health:

Lee Edwards, a Heritage Foundation scholar and a friend, said Weyrich had suffered from ill health in recent years and had both legs amputated.
