Cult favorite Ann Savage, 87, best known for her role as the utterly vile Vera in the grade-Z classic Detour (1945), died Christmas day of complications from a series of strokes.
She played probably the most vile female in the history of films, playing opposite a real-life loser, Tom Neal, who later killed his wife and was sent to prison.
