O.J. [Updated]

The O.J. existing now is just a pod, a zombiefied version of the one pre-1994:

And that puts a stamp on what many figured was a foregone conclusion: that Simpson would one day wind up in a prison cell.

It's hard to remember that this guy was Tiger Woods before there was a Tiger Woods, a handsome, gifted athlete who cut across race. He acted in movies, did broadcasting work and filmed Hertz commercials.

That guy faded a long time ago. This guy has just been renting his body.

They say Simpson was convicted less because of this crime than the one he evaded 13 years ago. I say they are one and the same.

A guiltless O.J. Simpson doesn't lose the civil case. A guiltless O.J. Simpson doesn't lose his house, money and memorabilia. A guiltless O.J. Simpson doesn't become so enraged over a stupid dispute that he gets a posse of gunmen to play tough guy.

_____

Simpson has only himself to blame for his predicament:

What can't be argued is that Simpson, 61, was taken down by his own pretentious self, apparently believing he was above the laws imposed on mere mortals. Even as he lived the life he desired — superstar athlete, sex symbol, advertising pitchman, Hollywood VIP — he never quite outgrew his childhood and the vanities that came with it.

It's not true that this OJ is a "pod".

I'm from Buffalo, and I remember him being given preferential treatment after he beat the crap out of his first wife, and for his involvement in the cocaine trade here with one of our mob figures.

He was protected then because he was a football star.

I think the columnist who characterized Simpson as a zombie forgot Simpson had an entire history of sleazy, violent behavior pre-1994. It simply escalated.

The O.J. supporters, what few there are left, ignore the fact he was buddies with LAPD, and they did little to help Nicole because he was a football/movie star.

I am glad YouTube posters have put up these clips so people will not forget. The slow-speed chase proves beyond all doubt his guilt. It was a sin the way the prosecution totally blundered the case. Not that it would have mattered with that particular jury in the criminal trial.
