Simpson's new home is Lovelock Correctional Center, a medium-security prison well away from the media though not as remote as Ely State Prison, where he spent a short amount of time before moving to Lovelock today.

The Lovelock prison is a medium security facility. Pardee could not immediately say if Simpson is in protective custody.

“My assumption is that he probably is initially while they are adjusting to the location,” Pardee said. “Nothing out of the ordinary going on or taking place. He going to be treated like other inmates with the same rights and privileges.”

A variety of things likely went into the decision to put Simpson in the Lovelock prison, including an evaluation of where he might best fit, safety issues and medical needs, she said.
