I was watching vintage cigarette ads over on YouTube, and was thinking about the British documentary from around 25 or 30 years ago, Death in the West*, which was about five real-life American cowboys, all of whom were dying from cigarette-causing diseases like lung cancer and emphysema. These clips are juxtaposed with interviews with their doctors, Marlboro cigarette ads, and interviews with cigarette execs. The documentary was controversial at the time.
I intend to get a DVD of it, even though the entire 32-minute documentary is available online from Pyramid Media. I always like to have my own copy of videos instead of viewing it in cyberspace.
*--I believe it first aired in 1976.
