Yeah, "free trade" really worked, didn't it? It did, all right, but only for the rich.
The problem with the argument against so-called "protectionism" isn't so much with foreign companies exporting goods to the United States to be bought and sold here; the problem is with so-called AMERICAN companies exploiting cheap labor overseas and importing the goods BACK to the United States for American workers and consumers to buy, thus undercutting our wage and salary base here.
Something HAS to be done to reverse 30 years of disastrous economic policies. It's that simple.
